Venues

C4L has always prided itself in generating a portion of its own income.  This is one income stream that it has as an NGO.

The second is contributions from individuals, families and churches.

The third income stream is grant funding.

Around the world, social services are being encouraged to become more self-sustaining.  That is where the venue bookings come in, for either:

  • Training centre in White River, South Africa
  • Orchard Camp
  • Courses or exposure visits (tours)
  • Learnerships

To get information on booking any of our venues, please contact C4L at hospitality@C4L.org or by using the address or phone numbers shown at the bottom left of this page.

Conference Facility

C4L's residential campus at White River in the Lowveld area of Mpumalanga Province is an ideal conference venue to book for your seminars, workshops or team building sessions.

Meeting and Classroom Space

There is a fully equipped conference room, an outdoor amphitheatre, and a verandah for more informal meetings.

There are also several lounges which can function as rooms for break-away groups.  Additionally, the pleasant garden surroundings and beautiful view lend themselves well to small group sessions out of doors.

Accommodation and Dining

On site, C4L can house groups of up to 20 residential participants in comfortable twin bedded rooms, accommodating two or three, with en-suite bathrooms.

Menus for the nutritious meals and snacks include a selection of familiar foods for the participant group, served buffet style and enjoyed in our spacious dining room.

Thanks to CIWI in Germany, C4L has a modern, well-equipped IT Centre that allows staff and learners to access the information highway. This includes Wi-Fi all over the campus.

Rates For C4L's Conference Facilities

To get information on booking any of our venues, please contact C4L at hospitality@C4L.org or by using the address or phone numbers shown at the bottom left of this page.

C4L's fee structure is based on:

  • Use of conference room facilities
  • Teas and lunches
  • Dinner and bed & breakfast accomodation per day (on a room-sharing basis)

In this way, calculations can take into account both the guests who are residential, as well as those who are commuting to the C4L campus each day.

Orchard Camp

Orchard Camp was built in 2005 in the orchard on the C4L campus to provide a venue where capacity building in in both youth and children could be facilitated.  Young people are more than welcome at C4L - they are a top priority.

There are four tent "villages" on the Orchard Campgrounds, consisting of two or three tents each – ten in all.  In each tent are 7 steel beds - 5 for campers and 2 for counselors, and each village has its own ablution block with showers, toilets & sinks.  Two of the “villages “are on one side of the camp grounds with other two on the opposite side, so that both young men or boys and young women or girls can attend camp concurrently.

There is a separate camp kitchen to serve the campers, and a hands-on studio for arts and crafts.  The outdoor facilities consist of a large playing field for sports and games, and the obstacle course with climbing wall for team building exercises.  The amphitheatre is perfect for sing-alongs and camper get-togethers, although there is also a large meeting room available for evening programs or inclement weather.  Additionally there are plenty of quiet places on the grounds for small groups and one-on-one counselling sessions.

The C4L Youth programme and the Orphans and Vulnerable Children's programme use the Orchard Camp facility during the summer and winter school breaks when C4L runs  “psychosocial support” resilience building camps.  However, the Orchard Camp facilities are available during the balance of the year for other groups holding camps, retreats, and functions. It is ideal for scouting and guiding jamborees,  youth rallies, or holiday camps.

Obstacle Course

C4L has an obstacle course called Pilgrims' Progress consisting of 18 challenges, including a climbing wall.  This course is ideally suited for team building for both adults and youth groups – in old clothes.  This venue can be booked by itself, or as part of a full package.  See Experiential Team Building on the Adult Learning page.
